Production Blog

Today, I thought it would be a good idea to research different editing softwares. I needed to figure out if I was going to edit my commercial on my laptop or iPad. Both devices have pretty good softwares, but I feel like apps on MacBook are a bit limited. They also tend to be slightly more complicated and difficult to use. It's a whole new learning process basically, but I like a bit of challenge trying to figure out how things work. In class, the teachers suggested we use CapCut, a very popular app. I've heard of it and used it before, and I can see why it's really popular. It has a lot of more advanced options for editing pictures and videos. However, when I tried it out for the first time it had a watermark at the end of the video, but that can easily be trimmed out. This might sound off topic, but I promise it's relevant. When I was younger, I used to really enjoy making music videos with my stuffed animals and I tried out basically all editing softwares on iPad. I used this one called Videoshop, and it's pretty good in my opinion. There is a watermark, but it only lasts for about 7 seconds. In order to combat that, I would add a random picture that would show for 7-8 seconds and cut off that part of the video in my photos album. This way, the watermark wouldn't be in the actual production I wanted to show. There's also iMovie, and it has no watermark which is good. It's available only on iOS though, but I have access to it. It's one of the more simple apps for editing, if you know your way around the app then you should be good. I'm so excited to work on this project and mess around with editing softwares. I feel like this will be a fun experience and great opportunity to enhance my skills.
