Reflection

For this project, I learned how to use both editing and drawing software. I actually used an art app called Procreate to create my collages. For transitions and putting together clips, I used iMovie and it was fairly simple. Learning to use iMovie on iPad was nothing but easy. Since I already can use an iPad, navigating the editing software wasn't a difficult task. I also learned how to embed videos on YouTube on my laptop, I found it to be a slightly confusing process. In the end, I figured it out and everything went smoothly.      During the process of learning to put a project together, I learned a few things. I learned how to add transitions and different images and clips together. This allowed me to create a longer video out of smaller pieces of media. I had to learn to get songs from YouTube and import them for my project. I also had the realization that it can be difficult to know where to start when starting from scratch on a video. Another thing I learned was that find

All About Me Commercial

Finally, I'm going to have this over with. I won't have to write any more production blogs after this. So, I finally started on my commercial. Right now, I'm not really getting all the results I wanted. I keep having to start over and tweak constantly as I just am not satisfied with it. I'm not losing hope or patience yet though, I'm seeing this project as a process of trial and error. I know it might take me a bunch of tries to get this video perfect, but that's okay. I have a ton of different drafts I made, but I'm not sure which one I'm going to actually use. It took me a while to decide which pictures and videos of myself I wanted to use since I have so much. Writing these blogs has honestly been easier said than done. Don't get me wrong, it's not that difficult of a task, but writer's block has gotten to me. It’s been taking me hours to even think of one sentence to type here. At least I only have this and the reflection to do, then I’ll

I have no idea what I want to write here because I've run out of ideas. I think I'm going to talk about the way I'm going to format my commercial. So rather than an actual commercial type video, I think it'll just be a regular one. Or, it could be more like a mini movie/short film, but up to a minute long. I'll just take normal media that I already have in my photos album and use those. I really do wish that examples of commercials were shown in class. That way, I'd have a better idea of what they're looking for. I’m genuinely confused on what I should do. This is off topic, but I'm so lost on the power struggles essay with the Breaking Bad clip. I have no idea how to do it and my original intro paragraph apparently wasn't good enough. I'm extremely frustrated with this class right now and my brain is broken. Anyway, I’m still thinking of how specifically I’m going to make this video. I guess I’m going to make a showcase on myself as a person, s

Today, I thought it would be a good idea to research different editing softwares. I needed to figure out if I was going to edit my commercial on my laptop or iPad. Both devices have pretty good softwares, but I feel like apps on MacBook are a bit limited. They also tend to be slightly more complicated and difficult to use. It's a whole new learning process basically, but I like a bit of challenge trying to figure out how things work. In class, the teachers suggested we use CapCut, a very popular app. I've heard of it and used it before, and I can see why it's really popular. It has a lot of more advanced options for editing pictures and videos. However, when I tried it out for the first time it had a watermark at the end of the video, but that can easily be trimmed out. This might sound off topic, but I promise it's relevant. When I was younger, I used to really enjoy making music videos with my stuffed animals and I tried out basically all editing softwares on iPad. I

I'm actually kind of excited to put together my commercial. I have a lot of pictures and videos to choose from, but if none of them seem good enough for the commercial, I'll just make more. For the intro, it'll be a blank screen, maybe just black. That will just be the plain template for me to put the title text onto it. I'll edit in some transitions, maybe the text will fade in. Another option I like is me adding some "boom" sound effects as each word on the title screen appears. There's a specific sound effect I have in mind, I just don't remember what it's called, so I'll have to do some searching on YouTube. For the media, I'll start with a picture and a video of myself and add some text saying "this is me!! I'm super cool!!." I was thinking the video should have a caption with something like "I am so silly!!." I want my commercial to be "meme-esque," so it has to be really dumb in a way, but at the sa

So the process of picking out media for my commercial project wasn't necessarily that hard. I just kind of had to find pictures that match my interests. For videos, I can easily gather some clips of myself recorded by friends. Finding pictures of myself will be really easy too, since I have a ton of them. Basically, anything I wrote about in my intro blog goes in the commercial. Picking out a song was a really difficult choice, since I'm currently obsessed with multiple songs. I had to pick something both catchy and 100% school appropriate, and something that isn't just screamo music. I went on Spotify, and did the process of elimination with my favorite bands. The following is what my entire thought process was this. "Okay, so My Chemical Romance could be a possible option as long as I pick a song that's not from their first album. Unless I want to make viewer's ears bleed with awesome guitar and scream-ish vocals. I could do Fall Out Boy, but none of their s

Intro Blog

Hey, my name is Val and I'm a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High School and this is my intro/ get to know me. I do kinda tend to forget basically everything about me when I'm asked to introduce myself but I'm trying my best here. So I guess my favorite classes in school probably have to be Media Studies and Psych. After school, I really enjoy chilling at home and scrolling on Insta, YouTube, maybe sometimes TikTok. I'll also play Roblox with my friends while we're on call, it's a lot of fun. I do wish I could spend all my time like this, but realistically, that's not possible. I'm getting kind of sidetracked, so let me get back to the original purpose of this intro. This is very, very, and I mean VERY cliche but my favorite color is black. It's a color you 99% of the time will see me wearing, I just can't live without it. Basically all of my wardrobe is just full of black with some outliers of other darker colors. I don't think I have any act
