Research and Planning Blog

So the process of picking out media for my commercial project wasn't necessarily that hard. I just kind of had to find pictures that match my interests. For videos, I can easily gather some clips of myself recorded by friends. Finding pictures of myself will be really easy too, since I have a ton of them. Basically, anything I wrote about in my intro blog goes in the commercial. Picking out a song was a really difficult choice, since I'm currently obsessed with multiple songs. I had to pick something both catchy and 100% school appropriate, and something that isn't just screamo music. I went on Spotify, and did the process of elimination with my favorite bands. The following is what my entire thought process was this. "Okay, so My Chemical Romance could be a possible option as long as I pick a song that's not from their first album. Unless I want to make viewer's ears bleed with awesome guitar and scream-ish vocals. I could do Fall Out Boy, but none of their songs are really "commercial-worthy." That sounds bad but I just mean you wouldn't expect to hear Sugar, We're Goin Down in any type of ad/commercial. Green Day is another really good option, since their songs are a little more chill (sort of) compared to MCR and could fit as background music. I thought about choosing a blink-182 song, but it just didn't fit what I was going for. I still don't know how I'm going to format this commercial if I'm being honest. Is it supposed to be a video of me?? Maybe I'm just slow, but I can be given crystal clear directions and I still won't know what to do until given a visual example. Actually wait, I think I'm getting it now. So I need to pick two songs, awesome!! I think I'm gonna pick Boy Division by My Chemical Romance for my first song. Okay, now I gotta think of a second song that would compliment the first one. Uhhhhhh, maybe Welcome to Paradise by Green Day." I know I know, long thought process isn't it? Well, at least I'm pretty sure I've got things figured out for now.
