Production Blog- The Beginning
I have set out to begin working on my music video. I have a few volunteers for acting, which is really good. I plan to be in charge of filming and editing because that's what I do best. I used to have a YouTube channel from the ages of 9-12, so I have experience in that field. For a while, editing was my passion, and I'm confident I can make a decent final product. After I made my storyboard, I visualized the main idea for the project. As the first step, I started off by downloading the necessary editing apps. Then, I sought out to research cameras and maybe see if I could buy one that is better quality than my phone. This did not work out, I am broke and cannot afford the camera I so dearly want. Okay well, I'm not broke, just cheap. On top of that, I only have enough money for a cheap camera, and I refuse to settle for lower quality. If I can convince my parents to get me a $400 camera, that'd be awesome! I would love to get my hands on a Canon EOS Rebel T100. Or maybe a Nikon D3400, but it's cheaper and may not be as good quality. The reason for me wanting a filming camera is because they capture low light settings better than an iPhone, and I want my music video to have dark lightning due to the dark nature of the story and lyrics. I also want to take inspiration from the album cover of the song. Whatever the atmosphere in that cover is, I want to replicate it. I feel as though that I'll improve from the last project. This time, I'll actually get to work on filming skills and play around with different effects in the editor. I need to figure out costumes too, but maybe I'll just leave that to somebody else.
