Production: Exploring Softwares

I remember back when I first got into making videos on YouTube at 9, I would spend hours searching the App Store for a reliable software. Something free, without obnoxious watermarks, and easy to use with plenty of options. I specifically remember Video Star, Kinemaster, and CapCut. I've seen and tried way too many apps to remember at this point. However, this was back in 2017, so it's been 7 years. I'm sure by now there are more apps out there with more advanced features. Getting an iPad really was a game changer for me, because iMovie is free, simple, doesn't have a watermark, and I love using it to put clips together and trim them as needed. Today, I'm finding myself in that position my 9 year old self was in 7 years ago. I've been scrolling and doing so much research on the best editing apps. It's not really a requirement for me to find a new app, because I've got my usual iMovie and Videoshop. Although, I do want to experiment with the new softwares of today. My heart still desires to try Lumafusion, but I'm a big cheapskate and I just don't want to spend $30 on an App Store app. What if it's not worth it? I'd be losing $30, and to me that's a large amount of money especially for an app. If I get a gift card or something of $25, I totally would be willing to use it and to just pay the extra $5 myself. If that's possible, I totally want to try it. Apparently, Final Cut Pro is on the App Store now. This is shocking to me, because I only remember it being available for laptops. I could've sworn that app was like $300 or something, which is criminally insane. I'm super shocked right now, because it actually says the app is free but requires a subscription that you can pay for annually. I might just try it, because I know how advanced Final Cut Pro is. Maybe I can live out my professional editor dreams my 9-12 year old self had. I could make really nice video edits of anything I want, and even if it takes practice, it would be a lot of fun to do.
