Production Blog- Getting Started

 Me and my partner for this project, Gabe, are just getting started on the process to start our final task. We've been super busy lately due to an overload of work from other classes, especially myself. I've had to study so much for APUSH tests and chemistry, while juggling 2 other AP's and a couple AICES. Either way, we managed to find a bit of time to purchase props that we need for the film. We went to a cheap party store and got some things like wigs and fake sunglasses. We're doing a comedy and it's supposed to be corny, like one of those purposefully poorly produced comedies. Basically, it kind of has the same attitude as a satirical film. We don't have a solid script yet, nor do we have an exact idea for title design. I think I'm going to take charge of the title design while Gabe works on the script. I already have a pretty good idea for the titles, I just need the proper editing software to execute it. I wish we had more time to work on this because we as students have lives outside of school. It's really hard to get schedules to align, since we all have different things going on. The good thing is that there's only two people working together, so we don't have to deal with too many people. We're planning on using Gabe's girlfriend, Josie, as an actor in the film. I was thinking of having another actor if possible, since variety is good. I don't want us to have to act out too many characters at once. We might potentially also use our friend Jennifer as an extra, we're not totally sure yet. It's gonna be slightly more difficult to figure out a good day for filming. Despite that, I'm kind of excited to get this idea out and make something funny. We'll figure things out one day at a time.

Production: Script/Screenplay

 My script doesn't have much dialogue whatsoever. It actually only has two lines where the characters speak. The point of the lack of speech in the script is to create a sense of mystery and suspense. I want whoever is watching to be confused as to what's happening. This will have them wondering what this suspicious character is about to do. I will copy and paste my script here so that you can read it. INT. Our Pitch

 Pitch 1: Long lost twins find each other after being switched up at birth Pitch 2: Millionaire leaves his wife for someone else under the assumption that she's poor, but she turns out to be the richest person in the world I probably wouldn't be interested in doing the first plot. This is because it's super basic, just very cliche. To be honest, me and my partner haven't had the chance to discuss anything. We just agreed to come up with random plots then mutually agree on one. But the first plot I definitely wouldn't pick, only because of how unoriginal it is. Pitch 2 is more interesting to me personally, so I would most likely pick this one. These kinds of dramas are also common, but they're just way more entertaining. It's also really enjoyable, and with the right technique, you can make it more unique than other dramas.
